Who will benefit from ECO? Will be to provide free heating and hot water saving measures, insulation, glazing and micro-generation technologies (except PV) to low income and vulnerable households.
The reasoning behind this exemption is relatively simple. The government and utility companies consider these households to be a priority, which is why insulation is offered free of charge. This type of funding is also known as 'ECO. However, before this fully funded grant can be given you will be required to provide evidence of your age or benefits received.
These have restrictions, this is depending on the depth of insulation already in the loft. This restriction is on average 100mm (4 inches) consequently you may only qualify for a partial grant. On the other hand, if you receive a benefit, the limitations differ depending on the scheme and your area. An existing depth of up to 100mm (4 inches) is usually allowed on the partial grant schemes.
